The spring softball season traditionally concludes on Father’s Day Weekend each June. The extra rain we’ve had this summer caused some delays in the town playoff games. Now that they have all concluded, here what happened in each division…

Tee

As the girls are just starting to learn the game, there was no playoff tournament. Instead all teams had a big party on June 19th at Oak Field behind the middle schools.

Rookie

This level was most affected by the rain. The playoff tournament was supposed to be completed June 17th, however the games had to be spread out over the following ten days. They were all very competitive and many were decided by just one run. The championship game was played June 27th under the lights at Upper Dean, where The Incredible Maroon Girls defeated The Pink Panthers 8-2.

Seniors

The Seniors final game was played late Sunday. The game didn’t finish until 9:57, so the Upper Dean lights went out shortly afterwards. Shirts were given out with the help of car headlights yet it was too dark for pictures. Masis Staffing (Blue) beat Wildwood Cabinetry (Gold) 8-4.

Congratulations to all the girls who participated! The summer season is now fully underway. Registration for fall is open until July 31.
