Shrewsbury Little League held its opening day festivities on Friday, April 29th in Dean Park. Teams lined up by division in the lower softball field. The players then paraded past the pond and onto the baseball field where they were treated to a visit from Worcester Bravehearts mascot Jake the Lion. After some remarks by League president Mike DiPiazza, the players recited the Little League Pledge together. Everyone yelled “Play Ball!” and got to spend the rest of the evening enjoying some fun activities on the playing fields.
