Shrewsbury Girls Softball will begin its annual All-Skills Clinic on Saturday, March 5th at Oak Middle School. It will run for five consecutive weeks through April 2nd from 5pm to 8pm. There will be three one hour slots created and players will be assigned to one of these sessions.  The younger children are assigned to the 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm slot and the older children typically are assigned into the other two sessions. Parents should have received an email from Coach Jim indicating which time slot has been arranged for their daughter.

The players should come prepared with attire appropriate to play softball.  Long pants that at the very least cover her knees, shirts that at least cover shoulders and sneakers / tennis shoes. For equipment they will need a softball glove, a bat and a batting helmet.  Fielding masks are optional but encouraged for safety.

The clinic is geared towards providing this as much information as possible in the time allotted. We currently have 80+ players signed up. We expect that there will be approximately 30 players per session once the assignment is completed. We ask that players and parents wait in the lobby area outside the gym until their session starts.

Any questions regarding the clinic can be directed to Coach Jim using the email below:

Additional Updates (Added 3/5)

  • No food is allowed in the gym.  You are only allowed to bring water into the gym.
  • Shrewsbury Public Schools has lifted the mask mandate, which means it is not a requirement to wear a mask. You can still choose to send your daughter with a mask; this is just to let you know it is not a requirement.
  • Please arrive about 10 minutes before your scheduled time if at all possible.
  • It is a gym floor, please make sure your daughter is dressed with tennis shoes or sneakers.
  • We will have a number of High School and Middle School volunteers helping out.  Please encourage your daughter to ask questions of them about their softball experiences
  • For the Shrewsbury based campers, we are going to try to map the girls to the spring teams and spring coaches as best we can.
  • For the non-Shrewsbury based campers, we will make sure your daughter is with campers of the same age and abilities.
